Sega Rally 2 (1998)

Based on Sega Model 3 hardware and programmed in C and Assembly, Sega Rally 2 featured realistic physics, dynamic weather conditions, and tracks with varying surfaces.

It was one of the most realistic rally games of its time. Sega Rally 2 was released by Sega in 1998 and ran on Sega Model 3 Step 2.0 hardware. This system used a PowerPC 603e processor at 166 MHz and a 3Dfx Voodoo 2 for graphics. The screen resolution was 496x384 pixels with a palette of 16.7 million colors. The sound was produced by a Motorola 68EC000 and Yamaha SCSP for FM synthesis.

Fun Fact: It was one of the first arcade games to feature real-time weather effects!
