Mario Bros. (1983)

Nintendo's Mario Bros., released on the Nintendo Vs. System, was written in 6502 Assembly and introduced cooperative (and competitive) arcade action.

Players control Mario and Luigi, flipping turtles and other creatures before kicking them off the screen. This classic Nintendo game was released in 1983. Its hardware was based on the Motorola 6809 processor at 1.5 MHz. The screen resolution was 256x224 pixels with a palette of 256 colors. Sound was produced by the Nintendo 2A03 chip, which was integrated into the processor and provided 5 channels of sound.

Fun Fact: This game was the first appearance of Luigi, Mario's brother!
