Time Crisis 2 (1997)

Namco's Time Crisis 2, which ran on the Namco Super System 23, was programmed in C and Assembly and featured the innovative foot pedal, which allowed players to take cover from enemy fire.

It was one of the first arcade shooters designed for two players at once. This Namco game was released in 1997. The system used a Motorola 68020 processor at 25 MHz and a Hitachi SH-2 as a coprocessor. The screen resolution was 640x480 pixels with a palette of 16.7 million colors. For sound, it used Namco's C352 custom sound chip.

Fun Fact: It had one of the best split-screen multiplayer experiences in an arcade shooter!
