Pong (1972)

Atari's Pong was a simple but addictive ping-pong game that didn't even have any software programming, but instead ran on hardwired logic circuits.

Pong was the first commercially successful arcade game, created by Atari's Nolan Bushnell. It used custom hardware without a central processor (pure TTL logic design). The screen resolution was 192x160 pixels, displaying simple black and white graphics.

Fun Fact: The first Pong arcade machine was placed in a bar and within a few days it broke down – not due to a malfunction, but because the coin box was too full!
